My name is Serghei Jinari. I was born on February 6th, 1989, in Costești, a little town in the North West of the Republic of Moldova. I grew up in a non-Christian home. My family was very poor and so when I started to go to school, in the afternoons after school, I also had to go to work to earn money for my family. Our school was a small school and I liked school sports, such as soccer. Because of hard family situations, many of my classmates finished ninth grade and left school to find a job. My goal at school was to finish 12th grade and receive a High School finishing diploma.
My wife Zina was born on March 26th, 1992. I met my wife, while we were working in an apple orchard. I was not a believer at the time, but I liked her. She was a hard worker and a good young girl. So on the December 9th, 2009 we got married.
We have two children; the first is our son Alexei and the second is our daughter Carmen. Alexei was born on March 17th, 2010 and Carmen was born on March 14th , 2014.
Alexei goes to kindergarten, but often he is sick. Carmen is at home with my wife. They are so cute, I praise God that He has given me such treasures!
The most important date for me, was when I attended an evangelistic meeting and there I heard a sermon on the parable of the prodigal son. God spoke to my heart and at the end of the sermon, I came to the front and gave my life to Jesus Christ. Jesus became my Lord and Savior. On the 18th of August, 2013 I and my wife were baptised by pastor Costel at Emanuel Baptist Church in Balti.
In April 2013, Emanuel Baptist Church from Balti, started doing different evangelistic events in our village, such as tidying up the park, visiting poor families, giving bags of food to those in need and on the 22nd of April 2013 we had the first evangelistic meeting in our village. The choir and musicians from Emanuel Baptist Church came, pastor Wayne Johnson preached and about 16 people gave their lives to Jesus Christ.
The biggest blessing for me, was when pastor Costel invited me to become a student at Emanuel Bible Training Center. These sessions are, for me, a time when I can learn more about God’s word and become stronger in faith. At our church, I preach the Word of God.
Some struggles that we have had, have been the fact that after we repented, all our relatives rejected us, because we have ”betrayed” their religion. Also, we didn’t have our own home, so we were renting. But with God’s help, through our brothers from Emanuel Baptist Church, we could afford a home and now we have our own home. To God be the glory for this!
A recent event in my ministry, and a big blessing, is that my mother, who in the beginning was aginst us, now has begun to come to church. We are praying that she will become a believer in Jesus Christ.
In 2014, God helped us, again through the help of Emanuel Baptist Church and of pastor Wayne Johnson, to buy a plot of land and on it we built a church building in our village. We have not finished it yet, but we are working towards completion. Please pray for us to finish this building and to use it for the glory of God, and for the saving of souls and the equipping of the saints.
Our plans for the future, are to visit every family in our village and to share the Gospel with them. Also, we want to begin a Sunday school for children and to have a Vacation Bible School during school breaks. My personal goal is to finish Bible School and to become a good servant of Christ in my village. Please keep us in your prayers!
