Ministries

Our goal at MCBC is to honor God by leading people to a saving faith in Jesus Christ and by helping them become mature Christians. We have a wide array of ministries for all ages to meet that goal.

Adult Ministries

Discipleship – Matthew 28:19-20 says, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.” At Medora Community Bible Church, we put this verse into practice by providing discipleship training for new believers and those desiring to become more mature in the faith.

Our discipleship program is men teaching men or couples and women teaching women. The entire discipleship program is based, not on instruction, but on mentoring. Mentoring is more about developing maturity and integrity than it is about information or activity. You will be shown and encouraged from God’s Word about what God desires in His children, and how God wants to build in you a constant, consistent walk with His Son, Jesus Christ.

Fellowship Groups – Fellowship Groups are small groups of Christians who meet together for a time of Bible study and fellowship around the Word of God.  We hope this time will encourage you in your Christian walk and provide you with an opportunity to fellowship with fellow believers.

Each Fellowship Group meets from 6-8 p.m. twice a month unless otherwise noted. During that time there is usually a meal and refreshment along with a time of Bible study.

Soul-Winning – God has saved us to serve Him.  We know God wants more from us than to just take in God’s Word; He calls us to give it out to others. God tells us that Christians are to be the “Salt” and “Light” of the world.  We are also responsible for telling the news of the greatest gift ever offered to mankind, the ultimate sacrifice and the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

There are regular opportunities to share our faith through Sharing God’s Gift soul winning ministry.  The focus of this ministry is to help each Christian have the desire and the ability to be a soul-winner.  We do this by instructing you how to use God’s Word in any normal casual conversation, asking questions, then showing people from the Bible who God is and helping the unsaved see their need for something more than the world has to offer.  We then pair you up with a well seasoned soul winner to slowly guide you and show you first hand how it’s done.

Youth Ministries

Our goal is to point teens to the saving grace of Jesus Christ and let them see for themselves that God is good, He loves them, and He desires a personal relationship with each of them and wants them to be pure and holy as He is.  We seek to accomplish this goal by showing them that the Bible is true and can be trusted in every facet of their lives.  That God is faithful to His Word and has a specific plan for each of their lives.

The Christian life is about giving not getting. Teens have many opportunities to give of themselves for the Lord’s service. Teens can help many places in our church’s ministries. Many teens help serve in the annual Vacation Bible School each summer. There is no place for boredom in the life of a teen at Medora who wants to get involved in ministering to others. We believe the Bible teaches the importance of a servants heart so we regularly have work projects as an outreach to the world we live in. Recreational activities are regularly scheduled for the teens at Medora. We want to have a time of fun and fellowship in a wholesome environment.  Guests are always welcome!

Sunday School – Each Sunday morning at 9:00 the High School and Junior High teens meet for singing and announcements. Pastor Ethan uses God’s Word to instruct students how to live practically for Christ using godly principles in an ungodly society.

Youth Fellowship – The teenagers have special meetings on select Sunday evenings we call Youth Fellowship Groups. We begin with a time of fun and fellowship. Then we spend time praising the Lord through song. Then we study the practicality of God’s Word and how it applies to our everyday lives.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:   1Peter 3:15

Summer Teen Camp – Summer camp is for all teens and is one of the most important parts of the spiritual growth of our youth group. Each summer our teens enjoy a week at a God honoring, Bible-preaching, exciting Christian camp! A week of camp can be expensive but don’t ever let that be a reason not to attend. God has opened up opportunities at Medora to make sure that all teens that would like to go, regardless of their financial ability, are given the chance to go.

Children’s Ministries

Our Children’s Ministries exist to assist parents in developing a Godly home. We intend to accomplish this purpose by providing Biblical instruction and training for children and parents.

Deuteronomy 6:7, “And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”

Our goal is that every child involved in our Children’s Ministries will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and a working knowledge of the Holy Scriptures.

Proverbs 22:6, ”Train up a child in the way he should go: an when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Sunday School – Our Sunday School Ministry exists to provide appropriate Biblical instruction for the various age levels. We seek to accomplish this goal by teaching through the books of the Bible so that each child understands the continuity of the Scriptures and learns Biblical principles. Our goal is to come alongside the parents in teaching children to know, love, and serve God.

The curriculum used in the children’s Sunday School program is “Answers In Genesis,” which utilizes teaching of foundational truth through God’s Word. This Curriculum takes students of all ages on an exciting chronological journey through the Bible with a focus on apologetics and life application! All ages are equipped to defend their faith, becoming conformed to the image of Christ, as they learn to apply God’s Word in their everyday lives.

Kids 4 Truth – Our Kids 4 Truth Ministry exists to teach children to know what they believe and why they believe it. We seek to give children a doctrinal foundation upon which to build their faith. The curriculum is a study of twelve of the main doctrines of our faith that includes Bible teaching, Scripture memory, and an incentive program.

This ministry is available Wednesday Evenings at 6:45 p.m., for children age four through the sixth grade.

Children’s Church – Our Children’s Church Ministry exists to bring children under the teaching of the Gospel, to enable those in the adult worship service to hear the preaching of the Word without distraction, and to help prepare children for the adult worship services. We intend to accomplish this purpose by providing a separate service designed for children.

The Children’s Church curricula provide an in-depth study into the lives of Bible characters through songs, Bible teaching, and visual aids. Each child learns to draw principles from the lives of prominent Bible characters that can be applied to his own life.

Vacation Bible School – Vacation Bible School at MCBC exists to glorify God by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the children of our community. MCBC is transformed for one week out of the year into an environment dedicated to sharing God’s word with the children who attend. The children enjoy a week of fun and engaging activities including Bible stories, crafts, games, music and a skit. Our desire that each child would take hold of God’s Word, apply it to their lives, and come to know Jesus Christ as their savior.

Junior Camp – Our Junior Camp ministry exists to challenge each child to become passionate about God’s eternal glory through a unique week of summer camp activity centered around Bible preaching.

This ministry is available to children entering fourth grade through children entering the seventh grade.

Nursery Ministry

MCBC has a fully staffed nursery to allow for a quiet, uninterrupted, worshipful atmosphere in the sanctuary for worship services. We have provided a bright, cheerful, safe environment for your infants, crawlers, and toddlers.  Tender, loving care in the form of books, hugs, songs, play, and rocking children are just a few of the services available.

MCBC has a Nursery Coordinator who oversees all aspects of the nursery.  We also have Team Leaders who assist the Nursery Coordinator in her duties.  The caregivers of the children include the Nursery Coordinator, Team Leaders, and volunteers.  The church approves all individuals working in the nursery by having adult workers go through a “screening” process.

Only children three years old and under are allowed in the nursery.  The exceptions to this are children who may have “special needs” or during special services.  We currently have separate nurseries for crawlers and toddlers.  Babies and children just learning to walk are placed in the crawler room.  Children who are walking are placed in the toddler room.
