Faith Community Bible Church

On a cold icy wintry evening in January of 2007, Faith Community Bible Church held our first service. Medora planted their first church in a town of just over nine hundred people. Since that time lives have been changed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, sinners have been saved, saints have been restored, and families have been turned right side up. God’s Word has power to do above and beyond what we can ask or imagine. January 14, 2017, will mark the tenth year anniversary of ministry in Burrton, Kansas.

The Lord has been faithful to us over the past decade, allowing us to share the gospel in many different settings. The good news of Christ death, burial and resurrection has changed lives for time and eternity. Those who are born again are discipled and challenged to grow in their new found faith in Christ. Seeking to minister to the local body of believers with the gift God entrusted to them.

Over the past ten years our missions outreach has expanded to financially supporting churches in India, China and Zimbab, and prayerful support for those planting churches in Canada. On the home front we focus on our community and are moving beyond in seeking opportunities that were given to us ten years ago that every community have a Bible preaching church. Through the highs and lows our Saviour has been faithful to us, and as a body of believers we strive to do the same. We are so grateful to those who have supported us prayerfully and we ask that you continue to lift us up before the throne of grace.

Personally, our family has matured with one son in college and the other in high school. Family life, like the ministry of the local church, is challenging but also rewarding. Jamie and I celebrated twenty five years of marriage this past August 3rd. I can testify to what the scriptures declare “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.” I am truly blessed with a beloved wife. Just as we have seen our family develop and grow, we desire to see the body of believers at Burrton grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We would appreciate your prayer for the continued work in Burrton. The Lord is opening up many opportunities for our church. Please pray for the ministries being established by God’s hand, and that laborers will come forth for new ministry endeavors. Our greatest need is that Faith Community Bible Church will stay true to the Great Commission given by Jesus our Savior (Matthew 28:18-20).

The Lord has given us great encouragement in the closing words to the church in Thessalonica in chapter 5:16-25 where the Lord challenges and encourages the saints in this way: “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. Brethren, pray for us.”

This is a tall order for any church.  Let us pray for each other and the work that God has in Medora, Burrton, and all over the world. The Holy Ghost utilizes those who walk according to God’s Word accomplishing beyond what we can ever dream or desire. Praise be to the One who has already given us the victory through the risen Christ. The Lord bless and keep you all.

You are personally invited to our tenth anniversary service on January 8th 2017, so that you can see for yourself that our God’s mercy truly endureth forever.
