I am B.K. Sahu born and brought up in an orthodox Hindu family. I have two brothers and a sister along with parent. I completed Bachelor of Arts Degree at D.A.V. College, Titilagarh in 1993-94. I got chance to hear Good News of our Lord JESUS CHRIST in 1995 and therefore I received JESUS CHRIST as my personal Savior and Lord on November 21, 1995, and baptized on November 24, 1995, during a special three-day convention of Dr. G.S. Nair conducted in Orissa. My family and society turned against me as they heard it; therefore, I left home and lived in a pastor’s home where I learned to grow in the Lord at the local Baptist church for seven months.
It was on June 26, 1996, I received the opportunity to come and study for Bachelor of Divinity Degree at People’s Baptist Bible College and Seminary from 1996 to 1999. By the help of Dr. Nair, after my degree I served as receptionist and warden at the same college during the 1999 to 2000 academic year.
I have a burning desire for the lost souls, and therefore I requested Dr. Nair to send me to win souls. It was in April 2000 I came and started church-planting at Jagdalpur of C.G. India. A long two years passed; many heard the gospel through me but nobody came to the Lord and I was very discouraged. I won a few souls in 2001 and started conducting church, which we named Blessed Baptist Church, on December 25, 2001. I had only two families in the beginning. I got married on May 9, 2002, to a godly girl named Dr. Clara Kishor. She has a vision like me. We served together and God gave growth to church. We have been blessed with two children, Stephen (2005) and Sharleen (2012).
Now I have 100 baptized believers and 50 Sunday school children in the church. I have a small rented house where I am conducting Sunday service. Many pastors had tried to plant a church here before I came. Nobody could. I thank God that He has used me here. I have different activities with the church such as the Sunday Service, Sunday School, cottage meetings, ladies meetings, youth group, men’s meetings, cell groups, evangelism, and a literacy program. I help my wife to conduct medical camp and teaching on health and hygiene through which we contact many unbelievers and they are in our fellowship.
I am appointed by P.B.M. to look after ten associate pastors here. We have monthly prayer meetings where we have fellowship with the Word of God and share ministry reports and prayer requests. I previously have conducted Pastor Fellowship once in a month and a Pastor Seminar (extension Bible classes) from time to time. These ten Baptist churches are guided and taught by me. Now I often visit and encourage them. I am responsible to conduct all the Christian activities of the churches such as marriages, funeral services, baptism, child dedication, seminars, conventions, counseling, and legal assistance to obey the government.
I also work at People’s Baptist Bible College where 140 pastors have already graduated and 200 pastors are going through training for ministry. I am teaching Systematic Theology (10 Doctrines), Hermeneutics, Homiletics, Apologetics, Greek, Hebrew, Dispensationalism, Exegesis, and Pastoral Care. I teach three days a week Monday to Wednesday, two hours each morning from 7:00 am to 9:00 am. Dr. G.S. Nair sends a few professors at times to teach here.
Prayer Request:
I need all of your prayer for (1) Family needs and children’s education; (2) I have a 10 year old bike and need a new one; (3) Growth of ministry.
