Each spring at Medora, we invite The Gideons International to present their work to our congregation.  On Gideons Sunday, a member of that organization explains the ministry and shares testimonies about people who have been impacted by Bibles that have been placed in locations such as hospitals, motels, etc.

A tremendous testimony regarding Gideons International is that every penny given to this organization is used for printing and distributing Bibles.  Not one cent goes to any individual.  The entire organization is made up of men and women who volunteer themselves and their resources.

In addition to Gideons Sunday, whenever someone from MCBC has been hospitalized, a baby has been born, or someone has died, the family is notified that Gideons Bibles have been placed in that person’s name.  Instead of giving flowers that die soon, we give Bibles that show the way to eternal life.  Isaiah 40:8, “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the Word of our God shall stand forever.”
